Bee Cafe CIC Overview

Welcome to Bee Cafe CIC, a community-driven initiative based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, aimed at supporting bees and other pollinators in urban areas. Launched during the 2020 lockdown by local eco enthusiast Paul Martin, the project focuses on creating a network of “bee cafes”—planters made from natural and reclaimed materials filled with a variety of pollinator-friendly flowers. These cafes are designed to fill “pollen gaps” and link established b-lines, enhancing local biodiversity.

Community Engagement and Activity

With 13 active members and 40 views since its creation on August 27, 2025, Bee Cafe CIC is fostering community involvement through volunteer opportunities. Members have adopted local bee cafes, playing a crucial role in their upkeep and success. The initiative not only promotes environmental awareness but also enriches community life by providing educational experiences for children and creating peaceful green spaces for all to enjoy.

At this time, there are no specific projects or items registered for management within the group. However, the focus remains on increasing biodiversity and promoting the welfare of pollinators in the area. The community’s dedication is key to the ongoing success of the Bee Cafe project, as it strives to connect fragmented habitats and encourage a thriving ecosystem.
